Top Ayrshire radio station West FM is set to be rebranded next month.

From September 16, West FM will be rebranded Clyde 1 Ayrshire and will broadcast the full Clyde 1 output including the award-winning Bowie at Breakfast, Scotland’s most famous radio football show Clyde 1 Superscoreboard and the legendary GBX on a Saturday evening.

Listeners will find the new station by searching for Clyde 1 Ayrshire.

Clyde 1 is already hugely popular with the people of Ayrshire and as it celebrates its 50th birthday, the station is also celebrating a 22 year high in listener figures.

Victoria Easton-Riley, Bauer Media Audio Content Director for Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: "We already know how popular Clyde 1 is across Ayrshire, whether it be calls into GBX or Superscoreboard, competition entries or shout outs, we always get such fantastic responses and interactions from listeners across the region.

"With Clyde 1‘s 50th birthday this year, and more listeners tuning in to celebrate with us, it felt like the perfect time to launch Clyde 1 across Ayrshire.

"With Bowie at Breakfast taking over from Ali and Michael in the morning I want to take this opportunity to thank them both for their great work on that show."

Clyde 1 Ayrshire will retain local news, travel, weather and continue to work closely with local businesses.

In addition, the station will continue to support local vulnerable and disadvantaged children through Cash for Kids
