A new Thai restaurant opened its doors in Largs on Friday evening, as a local councillor hailed exciting times for the food and drink sector in the town.
Tha-Tien-Thai, which took over the former Waterside Bar in Bath Street, opened on November 29 at 5pm.
A planning application was lodged and passed by North Ayrshire Council in October.
The application was made by Tha-Tien-Thai, who already own an award-winning oriental restaurant in Ayr.
A Facebook posting on the Tha-Tien-Thai Facebook page revealed the big opening and stated that the business couldn't wait to open its doors in Largs.
The move has been welcomed by independent councillor Ian Murdoch, who said at a recent community council meeting that there are "plenty of positives" with new businesses moving into the town.
Cllr Murdoch said: "A new Thai restaurant is more good news for Largs, after the opening of Bonmarche, Peacocks, Edinburgh Woollen Mill and Ponden Home Interiors.
"Also, work on the former Lounge building is well on its way and the owner of No.33, as it will be called, has spent a lot of money on the structure of the building which is great news.
"We also know that there is going to be a restaurant at the former Helter Skelter, and these are all very positive signs for Largs."
