PASTOR Steve Fountain will be at the centre of celebrations in Largs this evening as the Church of the Nazarene marks his birthday with a special community meal.
Common Ground, the church’s weekly community dinner, will bring worshippers and local residents together for an American-style buffet prepared by the pastor himself on Thursday, June 11.
Doors open at 4pm at the Aitken Street church, with a soup starter served from 4pm and the main buffet available between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.
On the menu are some of Pastor Steve’s favourite Southern dishes, including pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw and potato salad, with organisers promising a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
The meal is open to everyone in the community, with a suggested donation of £2 for adults and children eating free of charge.
Church leaders say they hope people will drop in for food, company and conversation, whether or not they are regular members of the congregation
