A FAIRLIE artist has hailed the success of a charity exhibition at the village’s community gardens after raising £900 for international medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
Painter Fredi Newton staged the one-day exhibition at the Organic Growers of Fairlie Community Gardens on Sunday, July 19, with visitors turning out in force throughout the afternoon.
She said the event was "very well attended” and confirmed that a total of £900 was raised for MSF through the sale of her paintings and donations on the day.
Fredi offered a big thank you on behalf of MSF to everyone who supported the exhibition, saying the generosity of local residents would help the charity continue its work providing urgent medical care in conflict zones and disaster areas worldwide.
The gardens, run by volunteers as a sustainable community growing project, hosted the event as part of their ongoing efforts to use the space for community and fundraising activities.
