A full list has been unveiled of the exciting free workshops and activities taking place at this year's Largs Viking Festival.

The full schedule - including the opening ceremony, Festival of Fire and detailed itinerary - is still to be released, but the event's organising committee are busy drawing up plans for the big Norse showcase from September 2-10.

A Viking Festival spokesperson said: "We paid attention to the feedback forms from last year's festival and many of you asked for free workshops and activities.

"This year, we are delighted to announce that there will be lots of free activities, games and workshops taking place in and around the Village over the two weekends.

"Games and activities are open to all, however, registration for the workshops will be on the day, with the advice being to sign up early at the village gate."

It should be noted that if you wish to take part in any of the free workshops in the village, you will still have to pay the Village entrance fee.
