The husband of the late Paul O’Grady, Andre Portasio has shared some heartbreaking news with fans of the broadcaster just two months after his death.

Sharing the sad news on Instagram, Portasio revealed that the couple's pet goats Maleficent and Beebo died on the same day.

In the post, sharing a picture of O’Grady and their goats, Portasio wrote: “Bad news that keeps on coming... a very sad day at our house.

“@paulogrady goats Maleficent and Beebo have both passed away today.”

Followers of Portasio shared their wishes and thoughts as comedian Alan Carr wrote: “So sorry – awful just awful x.”

Whilst one fan added: “On no, so sorry. As if you haven’t been through enough. Take care.”

And another fan wrote: “This is so sad, grief affects animals too. I hope you and Paul’s family are OK and taking care of each other.”

The sad news of the loss of their pet goats came just two months after the legendary broadcaster O’Grady passed away from a heart attack.

News of O’Grady’s passing shocked the nation on March 28 as Portasio shared a statement confirming the 67 years old death.

Writing in the post, O’Grady’s husband shared: “He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion.

"I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years."

Paul O’Grady was known for his love of animals and regularly recused many, keeping them in his farmhouse set in Kent.
