I write in relation to the recent Largs and Millport News story 'New forestry project will reduce the risk of flash flooding'.
During the last ten years there has been four 'water' events, two of which were due to water main problems, a third event was a flood down the Haylie Brae and through Trigoni not connected with Stakis-owned land and finally a flood near M&Co which was caused by debris getting lodged under the railway bridge at the station.
In all my 70 plus years living in Largs there has never been flash flooding from Halkshill or Blair Park farms to my knowledge.
However in the first few years of ground prep and planting in the valley, there may be a raised risk of flooding due to the works!
