I wanted to express my thanks to the recently established Largs allotments group for its presentation at Largs Library on Saturday 31st October. I was greatly impressed by the group's enthusiasm and openness on the challenges it has to overcome in locating a suitable plot of land, but was also inspired by the group's ambition to help create a truly unique community environment in Largs, one that will help to benefit more than just those wishing to get their hands dirty in growing their own produce!
I know friends who have been active in similar successful initiatives in Fairlie and in Glasgow, and it strikes me that such a project in Largs is one that will certainly help to create a sense of community and co-operation for those wishing to participate.
As such, I am excited to learn of further developments in due course, and would encourage anyone who may also be interested to perhaps visit the group's Facebook page, entitled Largs People Allotments.
Once again, a huge thanks to the team for their time and infectious delivery of a superb idea!
