Seven of North Ayrshire Amateur Swimming Club’s junior swimmers headed to the Citadel in Ayr on Sunday 24 January to compete in their first gala of 2015. The swimmers did very well with a total of 35 personal best times from 38 swims.

Andrew Sutherland (12) from Fairlie was in good form after a recent break and did very well to get a silver medal in his 50m Back Crawl. He was 4th in 50 Free and 5th in 50 Breast as well as achieving Personal Best times in his other 3 swims.

Isla Waller (8) from Largs performed well in her first ever 200 metre race and got a bronze medal in the 200 Free against much older opposition. She was also 5th in 50 Fly and 100 Individual Medley with excellent times and achieved a personal best in 50 back crawl.

Emma McLarty (9) also from Largs was swimming in her first gala and had excellent swims in both 50 Back and 50 Free.

Finally newcomers to the club sisters Hope and Nadia McCluskey from Seamill performed well in their first gala with Hope (9) taking away 6 PB swims and older sister Nadia (12) doing well with 5 PBs.
