Thistle boss Stuart Davidson said he was delighted with his players after they secured a late leveller at Pollok on Wednesday evening, but believes that Largs could do better.

"It was great to see the players celebrating the goal from Creag Little in the 92nd minute and it was certainly well deserved," said Davidson.

"Normally you would be pleased to come away from Pollok with a draw, but maybe we could have won.

"I thought we did well against Auchinleck on Saturday too, but we stepped it up a bit last night. And I thought the Pollok goals both came against the run of play which is not good when you are putting in a lot of work into the game only to give away cheap goals."

The Thistle gaffer said he felt that Largs had a 'stonewaller' of a penalty claim denied to them when striker Scott Adam, who sits out the next two games due to suspension, was tugged in the box at 1-2 down. It was Adam who levelled matters after the Pollok opener.

He added: "We need to step our game up if we want to get more points here and get the rewards that are due for the work we are putting in.

"We came into this league and lost 1-0 to Talbot, and drew 2-2 last night at Pollok. I don't want the players going away from these games thinking 'Well, we are close, and we were unlucky to lose to Talbot and we did great to get a draw at Pollok.

"We are better than that - and we can go out and beat these teams."

Thistle next face Kilwinning at Barrfields on Saturday at 2pm - it is the third time the sides have met in their last six competitive outings, and Largs will be hoping it is third time lucky as they chase their first win against the Buffs.
