Last week we welcomed Boccia UK athletes back to the centre for a training camp and this was combined with a multi-school event which took place for ASN schools and those with pupils with additional needs to come and try a new sport. We think many children left feeling inspired after being shown the ropes by some of the world’s best players.
Over the weekend we also welcomed Scottish Archery who were running their coaching conference at the centre all weekend. With some practical workshops and also some classroom based activity the conference is for archery coaches across Scotland to attend and learn from each other.
This weekend we are looking forward to once again hosting The Gathering for our friends at Judo Scotland. Last year’s event was such a big success that it won an international award for the best coaching event in the sport! It brings together judokas with some internationally renowned coaches for training sessions and a formal dinner thrown in to the mix. We are delighted that they are once again returning to use the centre for this.
This weekend our centre over in Cumbrae are also hosting the sportscotland Sea Kayak Symposium which will see paddlesports enthusiasts come together for a weekend of coaching workshops and guest speakers. There are still tickets available via the Cumbrae website nationalcentrecumbrae.org.uk
It is National Fitness Day on Wednesday and we are asking all of our members to bring along a friend for free! Our instructors will be on hand to answer any questions people may have about the fitness suite and our memberships.
Our free pre-school gymnastics offer is still running until mid October – you can get a Gym Tots, Gym Cubs or Monday Free Play session for free to give it a try! Full class listing on our website or pick up a leaflet in the centre.
