Largs have been drawn to play Hurlford in the two legged Macron Scottish Cup semi finals. The home leg is at Barrfields on 30 March, and the away leg is on the following weekend (6/7 April).

Having the second leg away from home is of no great concern to Thistle boss Stuart Davidson.

Davidson said "It was going to be tough no matter who we were going to get. Hurlford are at home in the second leg and will think they have a wee chance. We will approach the games individually as single games.

"It is the first time for me as manager at the semi stage with two legs.

"The fact that all three sides we could have met reached the semi finals last year shows you the strength and quality of the opposition, and both Auchinleck and Hurlford have won the cup in recent years, and indeed contested last year's final so I understand why some have been saying it is likely to be a re-match this year. The matches we have played in the league have been close, a draw and a narrow defeat, and I expect it to be tight again.

"Having the second leg away certainly didn't do Ajax or Manchester United any harm this week!"

The Largs boss is currently concentrating on the big league match against Pollok at Barrfields on Saturday, 2pm kick-off.

Ben Black looks set to be out for a few weeks at least with damaged ankle ligaments and the club are still awaiting the swelling to go down until they know the full extent of the injury.

"We have a few injuries for the Pollok game," said Davidson, "But it is a good opportunity for other players to shine and stake their claim in the team."
