STUART Davidson believes underdogs Largs can upset the odds against favourites Hurlford and secure a prestigious place in the Macron Scottish Cup final.
The winner-takes-all clash at Blair Park will be decided on penalties if the tie ends a draw after 90 minutes, in what will be the biggest match of the careers of many of the players in the Thistle side. Both sides fought out an exciting 2-2 tussle at Barrfields in the first leg last weekend, and all roads lead to Hurlford on Saturday for the crunch second leg encounter.
Largs are sweating over the fitness of influential wingers Ben Black and Ryan McKie, above left, who have both returned to training in the hope of gaining fitness for the win-or-bust clash.
Davidson said: “We are hopeful Ben will be back — it was too much of a risk to feature him in the first leg as he had not done any work with the boys, but he will be returning to full training this week and we will see how it works out for Saturday.”
