Largs Thistle are on the look out for a new central defensive partnership next season.

Nicky Jamieson has joined Queen's Park, while skipper Creag Little has announced today that he is leaving the Barrfields club.

Both Little and Jamieson have been mainstays of the club for many years and have played a significant role in the club's successes.

Creag said: "Thanks for everything the last seven years, I've made memories I'll never forget and have made friends for life. The time is right for me to move on and try something new, it's with a heavy heart but I need a new challenge.

"Largs have a great manager in Arnie (Stuart Davidson) and given the backing he deserves will bring success to the club."

'News' columnist George Wall said: "It is a surprise - Creag had the opportunity to go to East Kilbride last year and he never took it and he is of course from Largs as well, but it is a shock to lose both your central defenders.

"How does Arnie replace them? It is a massive blow."

Both Little and Jamieson have been impressive defensively but have also weighed in with some important goals - the pair notably scoring in the 2-2 draw in the first leg v Hurlford United in the semi final of the Scottish Cup.

Little has made a total of 228 appearances for the club with 23 goals, while Jamieson has notched 14 goals in 155 appearances.
