Cambusneathan 2 Largs Thistle Over 35s 4
This was a good victory for the Over 35’s in their first ever Scottish Cup tie away to Cambusnethan in Lanarkshire. Largs had a great start after a cross by Giovino was sliced into his own net by the oppositions centre half after one minute.
Largs went on to dominate but it was Cambusnethan who equalised in a break away .
A forced substitution after Rae was injured worked out well as his replacement Baker put Largs ahead. In the second half Rodgers put Largs further ahead after a great run and some nifty footwork.
Time was running out when Cambusnethan scored in another breakaway to make it 3-2 but Largs ran up the park and again after more nifty footwork by Rodgers he was brought down and the ref awarded a penalty. Shanks stepped up and made it 4-2.
A great team performance in a tough game.
