Former La Liga footballer Hugh Samson showed the way to the walking footballers with a great hat-trick at the regular Wednesday session at Inverclyde Sports Centre.
Hugh, who played in the lower divisions of the Spanish league, before starring with Dalry Thistle was the star man in the fun one hour session at the Weir astroturf indoor centre.
His goals meant that it was a 6-4 victory for the Blues against the Reds who had stormed ahead in the first half when Largs Thistle committee man Alex McCart swerved the opener past goalkeeper Drew whose gloves must have been slippery.
Newcomer Ian Rowan got top marks in the Reds goal with a fine display of diving saves aided and abetted by sterling defensive work by man mountain Mike Orobczuk.
KA Leisure SFA coach Craig Hamilton supervised proceedings and will be happy to welcome more newcomers - no football ability required - to the summer sessions which are staged on Monday from 1 to 2pm and Wednesday, 11am to 12. It only costs £2 per session, payable at the sports centre reception.
