Largs Thistle 3 Luncarty 2
Largs were in fine fettle as they came through their most testing friendly encounter yet with a home victory over Luncarty on Saturday.
Thistle keeper Ross Lundy was called into action early to flip a dangerous free kick on to the crossbar on six minutes.
The Barrfields side opened the scoring from a Scott Adam penalty kick after trialist was chopped down on entering the box - see video clip above.
Luncarty equalised with a high quality half-volleyed strike on the angle before half-time.
Another trialist who captured the eye scored a spectacular long range effort after spotting the Luncarty keeper off his line.
Luncarty levelled with a spectacular angled drive, before Thistle scored a late winner thanks to a defender's deflection from a Largs corner kick.
The visitors nearly equalised at the death but the ball pinged off the post much to Largs supporters' relief as Thistle held out for a 3-2 win.
Largs assistant manager Martin Crawford said: "I was pleased with the result against a decent team.
"We have a new set of boys with a lot of energy and skill.
"We are not displeased with the performance but we know that there are certain areas where we could do a lot better, and we have told the players that.
"We are looking forward to moving onwards and upwards."
