Largs Thistle 1 Kilwinning Rangers 0

This was an entertaining and fast flowing battle between two new look sides and it was Largs who did enough to get over the finishing line.
Stuart Davidson's side are now in pole position to qualify from the West Cup group stages and only require a point at home to Ardeer tomorrow night at Barrfields to secure their place.

Kilwinning may have been reduced to ten men after only 12 minutes of this contest after Gary Fleming's sending off but their numerical disadvantage really didn't show as they pushed forward time and again in this contest.
Both teams may have scored nine goals each on Saturday, but it was only one goal which separated them on Monday night - and it came from the penalty spot from Scott Adams on 34 minutes after he had been hauled down in the box.

Forward Will Sewell fired in a good effort from the edge of the area which required a good save from Markey before the interval but Buffs ramped things up after the break with Agnew going close with a long range effort. Chances were at a premium in the second half but it was a fast and furious see-saw encounter.

After an intriguing battle, Largs held out for three points to top the section with 10 goals scored and none conceded.
As expected, this was much more of a contest and perhaps more in line with what Largs are going to expect week in week out in the league - it was a very close and competitive contest with no quarter given by either team.
