Largs Tennis Club staged its club championship weekend at Inverclyde Sports Centre at the weekend and endured some testing weather conditions.
The Gents singles winner was Blair Cunningham who triumphed in a one hour and 20 minute encounter against Alan McEwing 6-2 6-2 in a match which had some long and exciting rallies.
Amid the downpour, the Ladies Doubles competition was won by Hazel Koerner and Sarah Cunningham against Sue Wilkie and Nancy Bunyan. In the Men's Doubles Gavin MacLellan and Brian McNeil beat Jim Cameron and Blair Cunningham in another rain-soaked encounter.
Thankfully, it was dry weather on Sunday. The Mixed Doubles open was a triumph for Alan McEwing and Janie McKenzie 6-3 7-6 (5) against Blair Cunningham and Sarah Cunningham. It was a dramatic tie break and the Mixed Open Handicap was won by Sue Wilkie and Gavin MacLellan against Lesley MacLellan and Brian McNeil.
And the Murray Cup tournament which started in February came to a climax with a tie between Jim Cameron and Alan McEwing for the Gents, and Hazel Korner backed up her four qualifying title wins by winning the final for the Ladies.
There was a tie for the ladies with the Murray Shield with Sarah Cunningham and Mary Lunday receiving the same number of points, with Brian McNeil winning for the gents.
Thanks went to Sarah Cunningham for organising the club competition and congratulations to all the winners.
