Largs Thistle striker Jamie McKenna is beginning to make his mark in the side after two goals in two games.

Speaking to the 'News' the former Winton and Port Glasgow striker was relishing the opportunity having moved up two divisions this season to stake his place in team.

He said: "It was superb to get on the scoresheet.
"It has been a struggle for me as I picked up an injury at the start of the season.
"It was important for me getting the hat-trick in the friendly against Irvine Vics last Monday - it helped set things up well for me, and I am feeling much more like myself after the injury.
"Coming off the bench to score the winning goal against Luncarty was terrific for me.
"It was a very scrappy game and it needed that bit of quality to make the breakthrough and it was a great move in the build-up.
"I am over the moon with the goal - the last thing the fans wanted was to go out in an early round after reaching the Scottish Cup final.
"I have scored a few important headers in my time, and if you have a wee run on a defender, and have a spring in your step, you always have a good chance.
"It was a great ball through from Ben Eardley, we had tried it a few times through the game and it hadn't come off but thankfully it did on this occasion."
