Thistle boss Stuart Davidson believes it is important his young side impose themselves early against Beith at Barrfields this Saturday in another all North Ayrshire encounter.
It is a 2pm kick-off at Barrfields as Largs look to get a rare victory against the Bellsdale Park side who last lost at Largs in a West of Scotland Cup encounter on penalties a few seasons ago.
Beith have had the upper hand in a lot of the confrontations over the years, including a 3-2 Ardagh Cup win earlier in the season but Largs came roaring back and within a whisker of taking that match to penalties too.
Largs are going into the match with confidence after coming off the back of three victories in a row and not conceding in four.
Davidson said: "Beith are always a hard team for us - we never seem to get much against them but in recent games we have finished well against them.
"I think it is important this time round that we start well and impose our game on them and get on top."
