It has been a busy day of signing talks at Largs Thistle.
Thistle have made a move for Auchinleck striker Hamish McKinlay, pictured above, in a month long loan deal.

The 21 year old knocked in the goals for Irvine Vics last season and attracted the attention of Scottish Cup and league champions Talbot at the start of the season.

Thistle manager Stuart Davidson said: "Hamish had a really good season at Irvine Vics and caught a lot of people's attention with his goalscoring feats. The fact that he went to Auchinleck Talbot shows you what a good player he is.

"He is going to come to us and get a few games under his belt.

"It is best for all parties in that he can come and help us out and can play anywhere upfront and gives the squad a bit of strengthening, and it is good for Auchinleck in that he is coming back to Beechwook Park a better player.

"He trained with us last night and looks sharp and hungry - we have some massive games coming up and he will play his part in that."

Asked whether the loan deal could be extended beyond February, Davidson said: "We will have to wait and see - it depends on a number of factors including Auchinleck's squad requirements, and  how he enjoys playing at Barrfields."

Largs and Millport Weekly News:

Davidson said: "Ben has returned on loan to Barrfields Park to the end of the season and joins up with Kieran Brophy who is also on loan from Greenock Morton.

"We are also in talks about signing up another defender which we hope to tie up later today.

"With three additional players in the squad it is good news and will make it more competitive going into an important stage of the season."
