Ex-Rangers striker believes Celtic are yet to hit top gear in the Premiership this season - and could dish out 'doings' when they finally do find their stride.

The retired hitman delivered the warning to Scottish football over the Hoops' form and believes Neil Lennon's side only have to learn to shut their shop at the defensive end to start seeing improvements.

Dodds, 51, has been impressed by Celtic's attacking prowess this campaign so far with the likes of Albian Ajeti playing well and Ryan Christie linking up with his strikers. Odsonne Edouard is even yet to get going properly but has still looked decent and scored a handful of early goals.

That's why the former Ibrox attacker believes the reigning champions will hammer sides as the season progresses and they begin to find their feet.

"You have to get them firing and you do feel as if they are short of really hitting top gear yet," he told BBC Sportsound. "If they do that they should be fine as ,midfield to front is fine. If Celtic start defending properly, there could be a few teams in for a doing."
