A grand day out!

That was the verdict of all the participants of the annual Largs Thistle sponsored cycle and walk around the Isle of Cumbrae.

It was the tenth occasion of the event which has raised thousands of pounds for the club, after launching in 2011.

With a lack of major fundraising events due to the Sportsmen's Dinner and other indoor events being cancelled, this year's island event took on extra significance.

This year funds raised were split between Largs Thistle and the club's new U20 development squad which will be playing on Friday evenings. Bikes were ordered from one of the club sponsors Mapes of Millport.

There was a good turn-out on Sunday including players, management and committee while supporters also came along for the ferry trip.

Thistle President David Blackwood said: "I would like to thank everyone who took part on the day, and all the sponsors. The Thistle Tour of Cumbrae is always a great day out and everyone including players, managers, supporters, and even their dogs, get involved in the day."

And Largs midfielder Graham Muir said: "What a day in Millport with the Largs Thistle team and family - absolutely brilliant."
