Largs Thistle 0 Clydebank 1
Largs Thistle narrowly lost out to Clydebank in a dramatic encounter which saw a red card dished out after only eight minutes.
Laurie McMaster was dismissed after a foul near the halfway line.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Thistle continued to push forward in this encounter right up to the final whistle with chances falling to Ben Black, Scott Adam, George Sewell and Simon McBryde.
Towards, the end of the first half, Thistle keeper Jamie McGowan pulled off a superb save as ex-Largs marksman Nicky Little was denied from the spot, and Bankies also hit the woodwork.
The winner arrived on the hour mark as Nicky Little was quickest to react to a cutback and showed his predatory instinct to blast home from six yards.
Thistle manager Stuart Davidson said: "I told the players after the match I was very proud of their efforts. I thought we were the better team at times. Some of the big decisions in the match went against us today, and Clydebank got the break for their goal but I feel there is much more to come from us this season."
LARGS: McGowan, Sewell, McMaster, Hughes, Chrystal, Faulds, Haggerty, McBryde, Adam, Forbes Black. Subs: McIntyre, Louden, Rutherford, Farrell (GK).
