A GOALKEEPER who has represented Brazil on the national stage was a surprise visitor to Barrfields Park on Saturday.

Samba star Erick Felipe has been staying in Largs during the past week as a guest of the Nardini family, and popped along to take in Largs Thistle's 1-0 win over Wishaw in the West of Scotland Football League Cup/

Some of Erick's superb saves have been televised in Brazil, where he starred as keeper representing the football loving country's seven-a-side team.

Erick, who has recently been competing in Malta, said he enjoyed the game and that Largs deserved to win the closely fought affair.

Largs and Millport Weekly News: He was impressed with Largs keeper Joe Wilton, and said it was something special to save three penalties during a shoot-out, as Wilton did the week before in Perth.

And getting into the Scottish spirit of things, the Brazilian shotstopper couldn't resist the opportunity try out the famous 'Theesel' pie - which he very much enjoyed.

He also mingled with some of the supporters including long term Tartan Army fan Campbell Crawford who was most impressed with Ericke's videos of his goalkeeping skills.
