The gents' winner, on his birthday, in a time of 27 minutes and 15 seconds, was Kirean Cooper of Carnethy HRC, and the first lady across the line was Ella Peters of Westerlands CCC in a time of 35:30.

Race director Alasdair McCallum said: "The race has been blessed with sunshine for the last five years and that, along with the help and support of North Ayrshire Athletics Club, the marshals, volunteers, Fairlie Parish Church and Morrisons for supplying the water, made it a classic hill race with a fantastic atmosphere."
