Largs Thistle midfielder Stuart Faulds says he is relishing his first full season wearing the captain's armband at Barrfields.
Faulds was well prepared for the role, having served as skipper during Scott Adam's lengthy time on the sidelines due to injury two years ago.
Adam left Largs at the end of last season, and Faulds' time leading the team has been a success so far, with only one defeat in the league and an unbeaten record at Barrfields.
and so far, Largs have only lost one game in the league, and are unbeaten at Barrfields Park in the league.
Faulds has certainly played his part and grabbed an early contender for Thistle's 'goal of the season' with a long range effort against Drumchapel United last month.
Faulds said: "We have played relatively well in the league but sometimes we maybe haven't created enough clear-cut chances to win them.
"I feel we didn't deserve to lose at Beith, but lacked quality in both boxes, We started poorly, conceding a goal in the first minute; that made it an uphill struggle, but I thought after that we were good at what is a tough place to go.
"Against Benburb, we had enough to win three times but we didn't manage to see the game out.
"We can't expect to concede three goals and win games .We need to make sure that we don't do that again in future."
Faulds pinpointed not making the correct decisions in defence and attack, not recognising that there might be someone in a better position, and a lack of communication behind some of the points dropped this season, but says the squad is determined to improve.
And after last season's impressive fifth place finish, Faulds and Largs are definitely looking up the way, having made their best start to the Premier Division in 15 years.
"The league is wide open and every team is capable of winning on any day," he said.
"If we can put a run of victories together, we can move up the table. With the cup games currently taking precedence, we want to be involved in as many tournaments as possible at the business end of the season."
