Largs Thistle 8 Bellfield 1

Thistle played their first game in a month at a sun drenched Barrfields, against Bellfield from Kilmarnock.

Largs took the lead on six minutes when a good passing move released Cameron Ferguson into the box but before he could apply the finish his legs were taken from him and a penalty awarded. Greg Kean made no mistake from the spot.

The lead was doubled on twenty minutes when Reece Allen drove into the penalty area only to see his shot saved, with the resultant rebound being neatly tucked home by Lee McShane.

The third came five minutes later straight from a Bellfield goal kick. Allen won the header on the half way line and the ball was then flicked on by McShane for Iain Bell to run on and lob the keeper from twelve yards.

Thistle made it four two minutes into the second half. A Kean corner from the right was powerfully headed home by Cameron Florence.

On the hour mark Robert Jack half volleyed home number five from just inside the box.

Bellfield were awarded, and scored, a consolation penalty, which astounded everyone watching as there was clearly no contact between Jamie Morgan and the Bellfield striker.

Largs then finished the game strongly with three goals in the last ten minutes.

Firstly Jamie Grant played in Florence, and when his cross shot was saved, Grant followed up to tap home the rebound.

Grant then turn creator when his cut back from the bye line was finished of by Ferguson.

The best goal of the game came in the final minute when Ferguson curled an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net from the edge of the box, to claim his second of the game.

Next up for Thistle is a trip to Cumnock.
