The West District Junior Age Group Championships took place on 12th and 13th November at the Tryst Sports Centre in Cumbernauld.
This is for swimmers aged 11-13 and allows them to swim against the best swimmers in their age group from across the West of Scotland.
Two swimmers from North Ayrshire Amateur Swimming Club performed excellently and left with medals. Eleven year old Beth Hill in her first West District Championships was awarded a bronze medal for the 32 lap 800 freestyle event while 13 year old Fraser Kelly won two silver medals, one for the gruelling 1500 metre freestyle event and one for the 200 metre butterfly.
