West Kilbride's Nicola Benedetti is thrilled to announce details of 'The Benedetti Sessions' which will see the internationally renowned violinist lead a weekend of events at Glasgow's City Halls over 22nd-24th March.

The Benedetti Sessions will also feature a rare opportunity for young, aspiring musicians to perform with Nicola. The public can come and enjoy many of the sessions and performances over the weekend.

As well as being one of the most highly sought-after performers on the world stage, Nicola Benedetti is fiercely dedicated to music education and was awarded an MBE in the 2013 New Year Honours in recognition of both her international music career and for her work with musical charities throughout the UK.

The Benedetti Sessions will allow Nicola to work closely with string players from two of the country's leading youth music organisations - the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland (NYOS) and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). She will also conduct an open masterclass focusing more on solo repertoire, which she knows best.

Nicola said: "I really hope the weekend will be insightful and enjoyable for the 40 young people and children participating but also for the public who can join in and watch our performances and sessions. It will also be great to be back in Scotland, as the weekend falls during my Silver Violin Tour. It will be a relief to be spending such a long time back at home!" Full details on The Benedetti Sessions, including how to register for participating in Intermezzo, are available now at www.benedettisessions.com.
