Around 300 people have been affected by a power cut in Largs this afternoon after high winds brought down power cables.
Houses in the Laverock Drive area of Largs have been affected and other surrounding streets A spokeswoman for Scottish Power said: "Around 300 customers have been affected, High winds affect branches which may have fallen and disrupted the power lines. There is no safety issue as the link has an auto reclosure and anything that hits the line automatically switches the power supply off.
"If the line is actually down, we try to switch our customers on to another source of supply. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
"It is overhead network damage caused by the high winds. We have staff on site working on repairs, and we have enough staff in to cover for any faults on the west of Scotland today."
Meanwhile, the A78 coastal road between Largs and Skelmorlie is also closed at the current time.
There were reports of some flooding at Bath Street in Largs during the afternoon.
