New flood defences at the Gogo Burn in Largs are due to be completed by the end of March.

Work on the final phase of the flood defences began this week with the construction of a reinforced wall between the railway bridge and flats at 4-6 Gogo Street.

This will tie into the existing flood defence wall. The 1.2m wall has been designed to reduce any visual impact and allow space for turning vehicles, say North Ayrshire Council.

Parking restrictions will be in place at Gogo Street during the course of the improvement work. The road will be fully closed at the beginning of the construction to allow delivery of materials. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.
