Conservatives have said they were refusing to be blown off course by the elements at the weekend, but will their policies prove water-tight with the Largs electorate?

With under 100 days to the Scottish Parliamentary election the campaign might be heating up but the weather is doing it’s best to hamper activities.

Five of the West Scotland Conservative candidates ascended upon Largs this weekend to support local Cunninghame North candidate Jamie Greene. Jackson Carlaw MSP and a number of candidates from Inverclyde, Cunninghame South and Paisley constituencies joined Jamie and a team of local Conservative activists on one of their “action days” - knocking on doors across the town.

Jamie said “We had snow, sleet, rain, hail, wind and a wee bit of sun on Saturday. I guess you could say a typical day at the seaside! Despite the gale force winds blowing our leaflets around we were out in force to kick off our campaign in North Ayrshire. I was honoured to be joined by many of my fellow candidates in the west region and we all are looking forward to the next 3 months of fighting for every vote.”
