Music in West Kilbride has added a special concert to its 2015-16 season featuring the Arild Andersen Trio in the Village Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday 14 May.

Tickets will be available at the door priced £10 for members and £15 for others. Tickets can be reserved by phoning 01294 824839, students and children welcome free of charge.

Arild Andersen is one of Europe’s leading jazz composers and bassists, having been at the forefront since the early 70s when he started out playing with Jan Garbarek. In 2007 he formed his current trio with Scotland’s star saxophonist, Tommy Smith, and the virtuoso Italian drummer, Paolo Vinaccia.

Angus Kerr, chair of Music in West Kilbride, said: ‘Tommy Smith gave us a great night in a recent concert for us. The opportunity to bring him back - and in the setting of the international trio - was an opportunity we could not miss.

The trio have just come back from appearing at the Panama Jazz Festival for a UK tour and West Kilbride will be their only appearance outside of venues in Manchester, Edinburgh, Perth and Oxford. We expect that they will give us a night to remember and provide a great end to our season.’
