Police say they are following a positive line of enquiry in relation to the theft of a four figure sum from travel agents LAH Travel in West Kilbride.

The incident happened at 12.30pm last Wednesday when two males used deceptive tactics to steal cash of various denominations.

Both men are described as having an Eastern European accent, with one having a heavy build, five foot 10 wearing a blue and brown baseball cap, white t-shirt and blue jeans, and had two distinctive gold teeth. Inspector Joe Conway of Largs Police commented: "Unfortunately it was a well rehearsed fraudulent activity, and we would remind all staff in the local area who handle money to be extra vigilant."

There has been a spate of mobile phone thefts from vehicles in Largs - four in all.

An engineer left a Samsung Galaxy and iPhone 6 in his van in Holehouse Road, Largs, and it was stolen at 2.30pm on Monday 9 May.

Another car theft happened in Brisbane Road, Largs, as two mobile phones were stolen from within the glove department of the car - an HTC and a Samsung,

Inspector Conway said: "We would remind motorists to keep their vehicles secure in the hot weather, as thieves will quite happily remove any items of value from your car."

A 19 year old man was reported to the Procurator Fiscal for possession of a small quantity of cannabis at 10.50pm on Saturday.
