It may be hottest day of the year, but unfortunately the world famous Waverley paddle steamer was not in Largs on Tuesday for its regular sailing due to 'operational reasons'.
A spokeswoman for the Waverley said that the ship, celebrating its 70th birthday this year, has an issue with her generators, and repair are underway today.
Text messages were sent out to passengers with tickets on Monday evening. The Waverley was tied up at Custom House Quay in Greenock, but is now based at Largs at 6.20pm tonight (Tuesday)
Tomorrow (Wednesday), the Waverley is due to host a unique one night only evening sunset cruise, sailing around the island of Bute, before sailing through the Kyles of Bute.
