All the groups involved in Douglas Park in Largs held a fun day in the park recently.

The event included bowling, tennis and a garden project, with a consultation taking place regarding the future of the park with prizes to be won.

Morrison Construction, who are building the new school and sport centre, donated prizes for the draw.

Jim Johnstone Community, Skills Manager at Morrison Construction, made the draw. Two winners received dining vouchers for local restaurants.

All those who took part in the consultation were entered into the draw. The consultation involved questions specific to each garden group on park usage, participation in activities and desirable improvements.

Organic Growers of Fairlie and Largs Organic Gardens are planning on developing the back of the garden with the Friends of Douglas Park and help from NAC. Westernlink Hunterston has offered appreciated funding for plants.

Our photographer Ken McKissock made it up to photograph the open day which included Largs Tennis Club community events and thankfully the dreaded rain stayed away until the end of the afternoon.
