SSE are about to submit planning permission for extension of their test turbines site at Hunterston - with a third giant turbine in the offing.
The renewable energy company to are due to attend Fairlie Community Council tonight - 5th December - at the Semple Centre at 7.30. All welcome.
Moves to make the giant turbine test site at Hunterston permanent were branded as 'totally unacceptable' by angry villagers at a recent Fairlie community council meeting.
At present, there are two turbines at 173m and 193m in height, set up by SSE and Mitsubishi respectively. A third 220m turbine planning application was withdrawn earlier this year.
And Fairlie Community Council stated they were going to write to North Ayrshire Council in order to obtain noise monitoring reports into the turbines.
