Largs and Millport Weekly News:

Marianne, pictured, said: "If a person feels depressed, anxious or stressed, and needs help to process their difficulties, I can give them a safe, therapeutic place to be heard without being judged.

I can assist them to find their own way forward to deal with their life challenges. They will be supported on their journey and will be given space to fully explore what has led them to where they are now. They will be offered empathy, genuineness and unconditional positive regard, no matter what they bring. "

Marianne is a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist serving North Ayrshire and surrounding areas. She is experienced in helping people in the following areas: Abuse, addictions, anger management, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, cancer, depression, disability, emotional distress, health-related issues, loss, post traumatic disorder, relationship issues, self-esteem, self-harm, sexuality, spirituality, stress, suicidal feelings, trauma, and work-related issues. However the person-centred approach to counselling that Marianne practices can help people with most types of problems and challenges.

Counselling helps people identify problems and crises and encourages them to take positive steps to resolve them. It can often be a relatively short-term process. Psychotherapy helps them with problems that have built up over the course of a long period of time. It is often a longer-term process of therapy that identifies emotional issues and the background to problems and difficulties. It helps them understand their feelings, thoughts and actions more clearly and see a positive way forward.

Working flexibly to suit clients' needs and offering appointments during the day and evenings, Save Haven Counselling also provides a free initial consultation.
