The A78 flood gates were closed from Largs to Meigle and Wemyss Bay to Skelmorlie on Sunday morning, and there was also disruption to the Cumbrae to Largs ferry service.
At 11.45am this morning, Largs Yacht Haven reported: "All boats on the pontoons have been checked this morning by our staff. No major problems to report. Lots of lines and fenders adjusted. The wind has now eased off."
Due to high winds between Kilwinning and Ardrossan South Beach the railway line was also closed during the morning with a temporary bus service laid on
Stagecoach terminated their 585 service at Largs, due to A78 being closed between Largs and Skelmorlie.
The Met Office AMBER alert was valid from 4am until 1pm on Sunday 31st December 2017.
