Over 100 people braved the rain and a bitterly cold wind to support the RNLI SOS (Soup on Saturday). They were very pleased to get a bowl of warming soup which they said was “very welcoming and tasty” and other goodies from the menu, as they came or met up with friends.

The committee want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved - the helpers in the Hall and the kitchen and those who manned the various stalls and the tombola. Also thanks to the Willowbank Hotel and Nardini’s who donated the soup; Morrison’s who donated the rolls; those who made and donated cakes and all those who gave prizes for the tombola.

Cathy Holgate from the RNLI said: “All that would not have made it successful without the turn out of the people of Largs and the surrounding area who came to give their support. It is one of our busiest fundraising days—really hard work for several hours--but it is always well worth it, especially when we learn that we raised nearly £1100!”
