A SUPERFIT Largs man is 'clocking on' for a bid to complete a hat-trick of West Highland Way runs.
Alasdair McCallum is going for a unique triple crown on the landmark route, which is just short of 100 miles long.
This will be the third time he has competed in the gruelling race in the past four years.
And this year he has the added motivation of aiming to keep St Columba's Parish Church clock chiming, while also raising funds for charity.
Alasdair said: “As a member of St Columba’s Parish Church I am helping to raise funds towards meeting the anticipated cost of maintaining the church clock.
"The cost, in former years, was met by the local council.
"Sadly, this is no longer the case and it is an important and prominent feature to Largs and its people."
The other charity Alasdair will be running for is Cancer Research UK.
He has set up an online sponsorship page where people can make pledges.
