IT IS always a challenge to keep kids occupied during the school summer holidays.

However, once again KA Leisure are offering an initiative during the school break which should help parents and carers looking for something for their little ones.

Returning for the school holiday's will be the popular free swimming and ice skating sessions which are offered to those aged 0-17 years.

These will take place across KA Leisure venues in North Ayrshire, and began today, Monday July 3, and will run until Friday, August 18.

The offer, which is only available midweek, will allow kids to swim or skate for free at selected times across KA Leisure facilities.

At Auchenharvie Leisure Centre in Stevenston - kids can swim for free between 10am and 2pm Monday and Friday, and From 10am-1pm on a Wednesday.

In addition to this, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1.30-3.30pm, free ice skating will also be available.

At the Garnock Campus, swimming will be free for youngsters on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 10am until 2pm.

At the Portal in Irvine, swimming will be free on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 11am and 2pm - though in the teaching pool on Mondays this time will be from 11.45am-2pm.

While at the Vikingar in Largs, free swimming sessions can be enjoyed on a Monday and Tuesday from 11.30am until 2.30pm.

Kids do not need to show staff anything to take advantage of these free sessions and pre-booking is not available - they are on a first come first served basis.
