A family who visited Largs last Thursday and lost their French bulldog have thanked News readers following her safe return after FIVE days.

Three-year-old Willow went missing last Thursday afternoon from Largs beach, sparking a News appeal.

Willow went missing around 3-4pm after a walk on Largs beach on Thursday, September 14.

Owner Iman Ali was visiting Largs with her family, including sister Alisha and mum Farzana, when they lost Willow.

Iman, who is a dental nurse in the south side of Glasgow, was distraught and hoped that people in Largs could help in her safe recovery.

Iman visited all the local vets and groomers to see if they could help, as well as local businesses across the weekend, and appealed to News readers as she was finding the travelling back and forth to Glasgow challenging.

The family also put up a £500 reward to assist in Willow's safe return.

She said: "Thank you so much to the Largs and Millport News and all the readers for their help. We have found Willow and want to thank everyone for their help - we really appreciate it. We have brought her home.

"I didn't know where she could have gone or where she could be - she is quite a small dog and we have looked after her since a pup, and she has been great. It was a real shock.

"I have been going to all the local vets and groomers to see if they can help.

"It was difficult for me coming down from Glasgow each day to search, and I am delighted that Willow has returned.

"We are delighted she is back."
