As Fairlie Village Hall prepares to open its doors this weekend to show the Calcutta Cup on the big screen, there has been good news about the Village Inn bar and restaurant in Fairlie.
The 'News' understands that the lease for the Village Inn has been taken over by an Indian family who own a number of hotels and restaurants in the west of Scotland, including the Argyll Hotel in Dunoon.
This weekend, the Village Hall will hosting three days of live sport with a licensed bar, snacks and fizzy drinks for the kids.
The Six Nations Rugby bar is open on Friday 10 March from 5pm until late, Saturday 11 March, 1pm till late, and Sunday 12 March, 1pm till 6pm. The all important rugby times are as follows: Friday - Wales v Ireland 8pm; Saturday - 1.30pm Italy v France, 4.30pm England v Scotland.
