A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “The path works at Hunterston are part of the Fairlie Community Links project and are due to be completed by the early part of May.
“The path is being upgraded and widened to three metres to enable users – cyclists, walkers, runners etc – of all abilities to enjoy access. the overall budget of both phases of the Fairlie Community Links project is £850,000.
“The project will provide a safe route for active travel between the two settlements and to Fairlie station. the council hope to have news on consultation events for the coastal path aspect of the Fairlie Community Links project shortly.”
