Inverkip and Wemyss Bay News
Root Damage
Some tree roots of the tree by the Post Box on Station Road had caused the pavement to rise. This has been a fault for some time but the offending roots have been cut out and the pavement re-laid. This is a result but one wonders when the authorities will remove the barriers that were originally round the tarmac area will be removed. The work was carried out over a week ago.
So many warning signs etc seem to be abandoned long after the problem is solved.
The “no road marking sign at Wemyss Bay before the Railway Bridge keeps falling down as does the “Closed Pier” sign, but the Flood notice is still lying on the pavement at Strathclyde House as are barriers that were there when there was road works.

There were bears to be seen and Zodiac boats took them to see bird colonies.
Abandoned whaling stations and former outposts showed how so many things were abandoned to the elements and now rust there.
They met some of the indigenous people of one island who entertained them and laid on a buffet of local food, not exactly fine dining for the visitors some of who wished they hadn’t sampled the reindeer entrails!. These people have a quota of whales they can kill for themselves and young whales are not afraid to go alongside the Zodiac boats allowing for great photographs.
From Wrangel Island to two islands that bear the names Yesterday and Tomorrow Island being separated by the date line.
Sue was delighted in the Tundra and its diverse fauna and her pictures of all the places visited were admired.
