It is cheers to the ambitious new whisky distillery set for Inverkip which has signed up one of the leading figures in the industry.
Willie Phillips has been appointed chairman of the Ardgowan Distillery, which has lodged plans with Inverclyde Council to build a world-class malt whisky distillery and visitor centre.
Phillips, who was managing director of internationally renowned Macallan malt whisky, aims to help create a ‘really outstanding’ new lowland single malt whisky at the venue.
Ardgowan Distillery chief executive Martin McAdam said: “Willie Phillips has a real passion for whisky and decades of experience in making superlative spirits and marketing them around the world.
