Largs silver medal winner Abby Kane is now a double golden girl with two awards at the North Ayrshire Provost's Civic Pride Awards, held at the Firth Pavilion at Seamill Hydro earlier this month.
The teenager swimmer from Braeside Avenue has won the North Ayrshire Sports Award, sponsored by KA Leisure, and the North Ayrshire Young Citizen of the Year award, sponsored by Cunninghame Housing Association.
The youngest member of Team GB at last year's Paralympics captured the hearts of us all with her amazing performance to win silver in the 100m backstroke.
Abby juggles her intense training and competition regime with her school work and has her aims firmly set upon doing well in the World Championships in Mexico.
Abby said:"I'm so happy because it was a really tough competition as all the finalists are such inspirational people. Life has been really good since Rio. I've competed in lots of different events and had so many amazing opportunities.
"Largs Academy have been really supportive and my mum has also got me a tutor which has all helped me combine swimming with my education."
